Introduction

The Laurels is a mid nineteenth century villa in Dura Den, on the bank of the Ceres Burn. It is thought to have been built as a later part of the mill complex which developed between Kemback and Pitscottie.

This project was carried out in several stages. The first was the adaptation of the existing outbuildings and the removal of the kitchen extension, replaced with a new kitchen / garden room extension and landscaping by Barry Heathcote, architect, working with Fiona Rodger Interiors.

Later stages involved the repair of the original house with some adaptation and improvement, carried out by Andrew Rodger Architect and Fiona Rodger Interiors, beginning with the roof, then the floors and services and, ultimately the interior finishes and furnishing.
