Ground floor public rooms
Drawing room

The black marble fire surround was damaged and covered in many layers of paint. It was cleaned and repaired and oiled and a new cassette fire was built in to help manage the poor draw on the old chimney.

Dining room

This room had the roof structure reinforced, a new ceiling rose and light fitting. The shutters, base and surrounds of the window were rebuilt. The fire surround had been broken into several pieces and was rebuilt and a new stove and hearth were created. The floor is completely new and the decorative plasterwork for the whole span of the window wall is new and made to match the rest. An old cupboard was made into open glass shelving to display the client's decorative china.

Kitchen and Garden room

This part was Phase 1 by Barry Heathcote, working with Fiona Rodger Interiors. The original kitchen was largely demolished, apart from the external walls which form the solid sides and a portal into the garden room.

Hallways

The main hall connects to the bedroom hall by a central linking hall which also connects to the rear extension and the stairs to the first floor.
We made a new doorway into the cloakroom and we put a small rooflight into the bedroom hall at the end which, along with the rooflight on the staircase, brings in daylight.
The pictures were taken before paintings were hung.
